From the recording Working Sail
A love song for my wife Lucy. Lucy and I first started seeing each other in 1993.
However, I was young, stupid, without foresight, blind, ignorant etc. and we eventually went our own ways.
But we never lost contact, and we were great friends still.
Eventually we knew that we had to be together. It was just silly. We loved each other to the core. This song is a love song to Lucy, just before we got back together, forever, in 2001.
Every seventh wave is you and me now babe.
Lyrics
You say I know, but I just think so
Every seventh wave is you and me now babe
So take me home I’m not a stranger there
It somewhere I feel safe
It’s my place
You only want the best of me
You only want the best
But I believe another day will break and take us both away
But somehow, I just want you now
You say you’re there
You could be anywhere
How soon and when
Will you take me back again
So real, goodbye
You’ve lost but so have I
At dawn I hear you singing
At night I hear you cry
I’m tole you’ve been away
But I know that
Grown up and built a life
And taken it in your stride
Your coffee table groans
under the weight of the magazines you own
‘Country living’, ‘Homes’, & ‘Brides’
Hello do you remember me?
Hello to your friends and family
